  Armagh Observatory. A modern astronomical research institute with a rich heritage. Grounds include Robinson Dome with 10 inch telescope, Lindsay sundial and the Armagh Astropark. Self guided tours.

  Visit the Navan Centre, which interprets one of Ireland's most important ancient monuments, Navan Fort. This was the royal seat of the Kings of Ulster and the province's ancient capital. Start your tour in the 'Vanished World' of lost myths, travel into the 'Real World' of archaeology and then enter the 'Other World' to hear the legends of the Ulster Cycle. Visit the Iron Age/Early Christain period dwelling and, through Living History interpretation, learn about that way of life. Audio Visual presentation is available in Irish, German, Spanish, French & Italian.

Finally, walk the path of history to the great Ancient Seat of Kings, Navan Fort.

 

Royal Irish Fusiliers Museum. The story of the regiment 1793-1968. Large model of the capture of the Imperial French Eagle at the Battle of Barossa 1811. Militaria from the Armagh, Cavan and Monaghan militias.

  The Argory was built in the 1820’s on a hill and has wonderful views over the gardens and 320 acre wooded riverside estate. This former home of the McGeough – Bond family has a splendid stable yard with horse carriages, harness room, acetylene gas plant and laundry. Take a stroll around the delightful gardens or for the more energetic along the woodland and riverside way-marked trails.

  Loughall Country Park Lake has a 4 metre shelf, which drops off to an average depth of 17 feet (up to 30 feet in places). Noteworthy catches to date - pike 23Ibs, 18Ibs and numerous at approx 8/9Ibs. Perch 3Ib 2oz, 2Ib 2oz. Tench 6Ib 7oz. Eels to 3Ib. Roach to 1Ib 9oz.
